So the other week I was aking someone to help me get the sound from the DDJ-SB into the pc so I can play the sound from it through stereo mix and was told to get the RCA to 3.5 mm jack so I could plu that into the pc.
I got the wires, connected them all just fine , plugged the ddj-sb in and hit play…..no sound.
I messed around with it for about 2 hours until I raged and I pulled the usb from the back of the ddj-sb.
and all of a sudden the sound of serato came through my pc.so I plugged the DDJ-SB straight back in and just as quick as there was sound coming through it went total silent again , no sound.
so basically I can’t seem to have the ddj-sb plugged into my pc when serato is on or else it cuts the sound from serato
can anyone give me somekind of step by step guide on how to keep the sound when the controller is plugged in because i’m total lost on why this is happening.
The general idea is that you DON’T play the sound from your DDJ-SB through the PC!
The controller has a soundcard built-in. So you hook up speakers to the master output (RCA connectors) of the controller.
When you plug in the SB, Serato recognizes it and – thanks to the excellent plug and play of Serato with supported controllers – it knew to use the soundcard of your SB to output it’s sound. If you route the master from your controller back to your PC, instead of to a pair of (active) speakers, no sound will come from the speakers hooked up to your PC. There are some VERY roundabout ways to make it happen the way you have it hooked up, but you need to know a bit about PCs, soundcard drivers and routing. Since you don’t seem to have that, I am not gonna bother you with that.
The moment you unplugged the USB, Serato recognized that too and dropped back to using the PC soundcard. And since you had told Serato to start playing a track while the controller was still connected, the sound of the playing track now came through the PC speakers. Plug the controller back in and Serato – you guessed it – started sending sound back out to the controller.
So, hook up speakers to the RCA master out of the SB and thinks will just be hunkadory!
No problem. And yes, that is the way it would work. Still not the recommended way, especially if the PC is a laptop. Desktop PCs with a decent soundcard will have a line in, but laptops usually only have a mic in, which is not particularly suited for (high quality) line signals. But if it works in your case and you are happy with it, good job!
I Would Like To Know If You Can Help Me ? I want to do the samething get my SB audio to my Laptop
Help PleaseRCA outputs to the mic/line input on your laptop will probably work. You can use any cheap/free recording software to tape it. Not optimal, but can be done.
Ok Thank You I got It But Now I Want To Know How TO Mix Threw UStream Or MIXLR ? Do You Know How ?
